New Site Design

So, I'm fiddling with the site design. The old look was a little dull for me. How does the new one work for you? I'd like some feedback, because I want to make sure everything loads properly. Does it look okay? Was the old way better?

Does Animal Krackerz load well? How do the stories look? Let me know.

re: site design

I like the new look and feel for the most part. Everything loads up fine for me. The font is a little difficult to read though.

Page Width

The page is too thin

new format

I like it. Everything is showing up great for me.
Except - the previous comment is correct. Maybe extend the side panels out to the edge of the page to make more room for the main panel in the middle? Also, something is a little weird with this text box - seems like its too wide for the space its in when I'm typing.

I also just noticed sometimes

I also just noticed sometimes the text in the main panel is not quite centred - off to the left - when I first access the page. Once I refresh, it goes into place (centred).

The weirdest thing

I'm not sure I like it and might go back to the other way until I have a different plan. Comment boxes disappear on one side when I'm writing, and then back again when you post -- and I can't widen the sides, sorry, it's a set format -- which is why I might scrap it and start again. also, all of your comments say that I wrote them, which I didn't ha ha.

Try again later

That was a headache -- now I can see Ross, Samuel and Fiona's comments instead of seeing them as my own (which was weird). Maybe I'll try a different format later. I liked that one aside from the narrow column, and the funky weirdness with the comments. Oh well, back to the drawing board.

another new site design

Back to the boards again I see.

I like this one as well. Though, you may need to increase the font size a bit. White text on a dark background is typically more difficult to read than the opposite way, as the dark background can have a tendency to overwhelm the text. So, thicker fonts, and larger sizes are necessary to offset this. (Of course, I am viewing on a monitor that is set to a high resolution | 1600x1200 | so text looks smaller to me, but regardless I don't think it would hurt to up the font size by 1 or 2 pixels.)

Limited control

I seem to have limited control over the system: digitalnovelists.com uses Drupal, and we only have so many site-types to choose from. I like this one, but it is small -- and I can't find the function to change the font-size. I don't think it can be changed.

Given that every time "The Surprising Life and Death of Diggory Franklin" changes books, I change the colour of the site, I might just have to reverse the dark background and bright text to darker text and brighter background with the next book change -- or sooner, if people prefer.

Nice

I like the new sight design
